At Assessio, we believe in a future with Zero Talent Waste- where people thrive in roles aligned with their strengths and potential.
We are one of the leading HR Tech companies in the Nordics, transforming into a scalable, AI-powered people data platform serving organizations across Europe. By combining 70+ years of scientific heritage with modern technology and intuitive product experiences, we help companies make smarter decisions in recruitment and talent development.
Today, we are 200+ colleagues across Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Germany, Estonia, France, Romania and the Netherlands - and we continue to grow internationally.
Now, we’re looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to help shape the legal foundation of a fast-growing SaaS company operating at the intersection of technology and people data.
About the role
As Senior Legal Counsel at Assessio, you will be a key business partner supporting commercial growth, product innovation, and strategic decision-making across the organization.
You will work closely with Sales, Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and leadership teams, helping the business navigate complex legal and regulatory questions in a pragmatic and commercially driven way.
This is a broad in-house role with significant exposure and impact, where legal is viewed as an enabler, not a blocker.
Main Responsibilities
Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, including SaaS agreements, DPAs, enterprise customer contracts, and partner agreements
Support Sales and Customer Success in complex customer negotiations and strategic deals
Develop scalable contract frameworks, templates, and negotiation guidelines to support international growth
Advise on GDPR, AI-related regulation, data protection, and SaaS-related legal matters
Partner with Product and Engineering on product development, AI features, privacy-by-design, and data usage
Identify legal risks and provide clear, business-oriented recommendations
Support tenders, procurement processes, and cross-functional legal matters across the business
Collaborate with external legal parties and support strategic initiatives when needed
Who are you?
At Assessio, we believe potential and mindset matter just as much as experience. We’re looking for someone who combines strong legal expertise with curiosity, business understanding, and a collaborative mindset.
You enjoy working close to the business, building trusted relationships, and helping teams move forward with clarity and confidence. You are pragmatic, solution-oriented, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced international environment.
To succeed in this role, we believe you have:
A Master of Laws (LL.M) or equivalent
Around 5+ years of experience within commercial and technology law
Experience from a SaaS, tech, or other international growth environment
Strong experience negotiating commercial and enterprise agreements
Solid understanding of GDPR and digital regulation
A commercial mindset and strong stakeholder management skills
Excellent English skills, written and spoken
Nice-to-have
Experience supporting go-to-market or commercial organizations
Knowledge of AI-related regulation and intellectual property in a technology context
Experience from scale-ups or international companies
Additional Nordic or European language skills
Why join Assessio?
This is an opportunity to join a purpose-driven and international HR Tech company during an exciting growth journey.
You’ll work close to decision-makers, influence how legal supports a scaling SaaS business, and play an important role in enabling future growth across Europe.
We offer a collaborative culture, high degree of ownership, flexible ways of working, and the opportunity to make real impact together with talented colleagues across multiple markets.
